Weinberger’s presented body of work is driven by the history of exposé, beauty and form of the real-life story of Saartjie Baartman the “Hottentot Venus.”
“I find Baartman’s life both captivating and horrific; living as a specimen perpetuating the myth of “otherness” that can still be found today fascinates me as a woman and an artist.”
Solo(s) Project House will soon be celebrating two years in the business! In the past two years we have grown in ways that we didn’t think possible in such a short time. Currently SPH houses over 20 artists in residence, an exhibition space, several satellites spaces and are able to provide artist opportunities. This is just the beginning… Our rapid pace of growth will certainly not stop there and we are excited to continue to move forward in 2012.
Founded in the Spring of 2010, the Solo(s) Project House started with just 5 studios and a gallery space. It has rapidly grown into an alternative venue for the arts that is home to twenty artists of all mediums.
